José de Jesús Noé

José de Jesús Noé (1805, Puebla, Mexico - 17 March 1862, San Francisco) was the last Mexican alcalde of Yerba Buena, which was renamed San Francisco after the conclusion of the Mexican-American War in 1846. He was appointed to the position twice: first as the 7th Alcalde (1842–1843) and again as the 12th Alcalde in 1846. In 1845, Noe was granted the land known as Rancho San Miguel, which covered the neighborhoods now known as Noe Valley, Eureka Valley, Fairmont Heights, Glen Park and Sunnyside.
